(to get money quicker while in the cheats console, after entering the cheat, press up and then enter, this will enter the cheat again)
Cheat Console
* help — lists all the cheats in the game.
* help [cheatname] — displays specific information about the cheat.
* exit — closes the cheat window.
* expand — expands or contracts the cheat window.
Move Objects Parameter
* moveObjects on — Turns moving of objects on.

Please note that this cheat will allow you to move and delete objects, such as the mailbox, that normally cannot be moved. Use caution with this cheat, once something is deleted there is no way to get it back.
Turn Aging On or Off
* aging -on — Turns aging of sims on.
* aging -off — Turns aging of sims off.
This cheat prevents Sims from aging when in the ‘off’ selection.
Turn Auto Patch / Auto Update On or Off
This cheat lets you re-enable notifications when there is a game update available for The Sims 2. With auto-update on simply go to the Custom Content Browser, if there is an available update for The Sims 2 you will be asked if you want to install it.
Slow Motion Sims
* slowMotion # — Lets you set the game speed. (# = 0 to 8, 0 iTurn Post Processing On or Off
* boolProp enablePostProcessing true — Turns Post processing on.
* boolProp enablePostProcessing false — Turns Post processing off.
Some cheats require the use of post processing, but you will need a graphics card that supports pixel shaders in order to use it. The use of post processing is good
To enter cheats in The Sims 2, first open the command console by simultaneously
pressing [Ctrl]+[Shift]+C. Note that codes are case-sensitive:
Kaching – Adds 1,000 simoleons
Motherlode – Adds 50,000 simoleons
expand – Expands or contracts the cheat window
moveObjects on – Turns moving of objects on
moveObjects off – Turns moving of objects off
aging -on – Turns aging of sims on
aging -off – Turns aging of sims off
autoPatch -on – Turns game autoupdate on
autoPatch -off – Turns game autoupdate on

deleteAllCharacters – Remove all Sims

button under escape on your keeboard.then type kaching or motherlode and
press enter.note that the cheat screen did not close.then press the up
button and the previously typed cheat wil appear again.press enter and
continue so forth till your hearts content.

kaching will get you 1000 simoleans
theres a complete list of cheats using shift ctrl c and boolprop cheats which can really change gameplay
